Emma Cook founded ESC Garden Design Studio in 2019 as a Post Graduate studying the HND in Garden & Landscape Design at The Eden Project in Cornwall. Graduating in 2020 with Distinction, Emma works predominantly in Devon and south west England, having also designed and consulted for international projects.

Prior to a career in Garden Design, Emma worked in Picture Research and Administration for a multi-national Book Publisher in London. She also holds a BA(Hons) in Management and a Diploma in Law, has travelled extensively and lived in the USA, which has influenced her perspective and fostered an understanding of different attitudes towards design in the landscape. When not designing gardens Emma likes to wander the south coast pathways, beaches and moorlands, camera in hand, dogs in tow.

 

Known as a keen and intuitive gardener, Emma's designs are influenced by the architecture and history of a place as much as by the landscape in which it sits; her work often applies geometric forms softened by naturalistic planting to create a connection between architecture and landscape, in the hope of drawing people outside and encouraging them to immerse themselves in their gardens and wild spaces.
